I have just installed XP pro and in the device manager
there is an Other Device which it labels Video Controller
(VGA Compatible), I can't seem to get a driver for it.

The only problem I notice is that when I scroll down the
screen the picture takes a little while to refresh, so
it's a bit difficult to view a document as you have to
wait 1/2 a second for the lines to find their new
location.

Any idea how I can find out where to look for an
appropriate driver without knowing what the actual device
is?!

I have tried Belarc website which states under display
adapter "None detected" when it probed my machine.

Choices:

Most video cards show something at Post Time. Turn off your computer.. Turn
it back on and watch the screen carefully.

Open the computer case, remove the video card, figure out what it is.

Look at your receipt.

If it's part of the mainboard, go to the mainboard's manufacturer's
website.. They should have it.
