Video clean start?

Hi there .. firstly apologies.. I have already posted this and got a reply
... but now lost it! Sorry!

I'm putting MPEG1 video into PPT 2000. No problems, everything works fine
.... except.

When you come to the slide with video on it ... as the video auto starts,
firstly you get a few still frames of the first frame of the movie, then it
'blinks' as it then seems to show a few frames of black, then the movie
starts properly. OK, all this happens in less than half a second, but it's
not exactly clean. Anone any ideas why ... is there a solution? Is there a
workaround?

Try this little trick: Place a graphic or autoshape box OVER the video
(matching the background is really great). A video always plays on top, so
when you come to the slide you will see the box, not the black video still.
The video will begin to play by jumping to the foreground, eliminating some
of the visual distractions.

Hello John,

I had the same problem a couple of weeks back...I had to take my .avi or
..mpeg1 file which began & ended in the same color as the background slide
and filter it through EZ Cleaner to get the desired result, ie, No Black
Flash on opening + closing of video.

However, I have upgraded to PPT XP and the intro transitions to video
files/slides allow you to fade in/ this in my opinion is a major blessing
and could overcome alot of work arounds, which we have been trying in PPT
2000.

Hope this was of help.

Take Care,
