Hi,

I can videoconference (with MSN Messenger 6.1 installed on
W2K) to my wife running MSN Messenger 6.1 on XP.

With another XP contact (using MSN Messenger 6.1) we can
only get audio to work. There is a message that says I
need XP for video.

What's going on?

Greetings Mac,

MSN Messenger 6.1 (on Windows XP) has two different video features. The 'Webcam' mode (which
has a button on the toolbar) which supports all Windows versions but requires MSN Messenger
6, and 'Video Conference' (under the Actions menu) which is Windows XP only but supports both
MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger.

As such, make sure you're using the 'Webcam' mode/button to initiate video conversations for
compatibility with all the Windows versions.

As ever you are a true expert & gentleman!

Sounds like the solution we need. We will try that and
post soon.

Thanks
Mac ;-)
