Will not play any dvd movioes, I keep getting the error message that my
display settings are incorrrect/set too high.
-- I have checked Via arena's website for updated drivers, any suggestions
would be so helpful!

strange... what is your resolution and refresh rate?

try to set them to 1024x768 and 75 Hz (refresh) and see if it works.....
 
Thnaks for the wuick response, No, it di not work., sadder than that is that
I cannot drop the resolution below 800 x 600. All of this stuff worked
beofre I gave it to my brother-n-law for xmas. I built it myslef, tested it
out exstesively for 2 weeks then packed it up and wrapped it for him
Now, it will play any DVD movies :(

To play DVDs, software must be installed. For example WinDVD or
PowerDVD etc etc.
 
there is a setting in in the display settings
Display Properties>Settings (tab)> Advanced (button)>
Troubleshoot (tab)

set the lever to FULL.

If this does not work try uninstalling the drivers and installing again OR
try restoring the pc with "system restore" to the time when the PC worked.
