Vertical axis chart labels cut off

I have created several charts in powerpoint and the label for the vertical
axis keeps getting the last half of a letter or so cutoff. I have tried
adjusting the font size, the text alignment, and the "right to left" or text
direction option that can be found under the alignment tab when formatting
the label. I also recently downloaded all recommended updates and service
packs to make sure the software program was current. Any additional
suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah, this is an issue without a good resolution.

You can add some periods to the end of the axis title and color them to
match the background.

Or you may have to resort to creating a manual textbox for the axis label.

Here is some additional information.

First, the problem may be a font issue as I usually use Times New Roman,
however, when switching to Arial, the problem seems to resolve itself. Is
there some other factor that could be affecting this?

Second, the problem appears to be only my computer. Other individuals in
the office can create a chart without this issue happening. Also, when I
first open one of their files I see the chart without this issue, however,
when I click on the chart and go inside it is when it the problem reappears
on my computer. If I were to try and print it after clicking in it, the
words get cutoff. Conversely, I have rigged several vertical labels
according to the spaces and dashes idea. When my coworkers open up the file
initially, they don't see the dashes, however, when they click on the chart
and go inside is when the label essentially "reformats" and shows the dashes.
If they were to try and print the file at that time, the label would include
all the dashes and spaces.

Any additional thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know why this happens. Some of the Excel MVPs were trying to nail
down exactly what causes it, but I don't know that they had much luck.

Setting the font color of the dashes/periods will hide them on the slide
background, but yeah, it probably won't help when printing -- I hadn't
thought about that.

I think the only reliable workaround for your situation will be to create
the axis title with a manual textbox. Sorry I don't have a better answer for
you.
