Version testing date expired popup

As soon as I log on I get a message "Version testing date expired" twice,
then again after a few minutes it comes up again twice and so on repeatedly.

Has anybody any idea what might be causing it. The icon it uses in the
toolbar looks like the two people icon Windows messenger uses. I have tried
to uninstall a few things and messenger but no joy, not that it is clear you
can actually uninstall messenger.

any thoughts or suggestions please.
 
Thanks for the search tip, but the most relevant ideas refer to Messenger
4.6.77 I am on 4.7 I will try the update again see if it helps.
