How can I check for the current version of IE on my machine? XP Home
Edition. The desktop icon is a blue E in a gold circle. Does this indicate
IE 7.0?

That is the icon for IE7, but to make sure, while IE is open click on Help, About.

Same way you would check for what version is installed for any program.
From inside the program Help | About.

Try that in an Office 2007 program.

Traditional way works fine with Outlook 2007. For Word...Click the
Office Orb, Word Options, Resources - "About MS Office Word 2007".
Believe the other Office products now have a similar path to "About".

Yes, but Rock's point (which I was agreeing with in a round-about way) is that
it has always been Help - About. With Of2K7 MS has suddenly decided that we
need to go Orb - options - resources - about...

(stupid stupid stupid)

I don't use Office 2007, but I see where R. McCarty clarified it. I'm going
to have to change that response next time.
Don't you just hate it when things change? Why can't things stay static for
ever? Geez, I sure wish I had my ex-wife back....no wait..not that....maybe
change can be good. ;-)

Sure change can be good, but change for the sake of change is not necessarily a
good thing. Office 2007 apps have this new blue "Help circle" on the upper
right of the window. Why not put a link to "About" under that so there is at
least a bit of consistency? I tell you when you have to occassionally assist
people over the phone small shit like that can be a real headache.
