Anyone know a good utlity that would verify the
intergrity of my floppy disk drive??
Probably not possible without a verified diskette.
I would recommend to try to transfer files both ways between (a)
another Windows XP computer, and (b) some non-XP computer.
Very important: Test this with a diskette formatted on XP, then
test the same again with a diskette formatted on a non-XP
computer.
There is an issue befalling some XP computers with 3-mode
diskette drives (720 KB, 1.2 MB, 1.44 MB). One Knowledge Base
article details this, but apparently not all computers show the
problem. These drives are common in Japan.
