I'm trying to capture video from a VCR. When I play the
VCR tape through my Sony TRV 22 I can see it in WMM, but
when I click "Capture" the DV tape in the Sony starts to
play and all I do is capture off the DV tape. Not what is
on the VCR tape. Is it possible to capture straight from
the VCR to WMM without first having to record onto a DV
tape? I am using firewire.
Thanks,
Chuck

Try putting your trv22 on record pause in vcr mode, then
hook an iee1394 cable to the camera.Click capture, you
will get an error message, just click ok,it should start
to capture the analog video. This works for me. I have a
trv38.

Does the TRV-22 even have pass-through capability? I took a quick
check on several sites and didn't see it listed. My TRV-70 has it,
but not sure about the TRV-22.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've tried it with spotty
success. Oddly, sometimes when I follow your steps I get
the error messages, click through them and can begin to
capture the passthrough analog video. Other times I don't
get the error messages and end up capturing from the tape
in the digital camera (TRV22). We're unsure why it works
sometimes and not others. Any experience like this?
