When I put a CD or thumb drive that contains various types of files
into my machine, Windows does not display the box asking me what to do
with the files. I have two machines, one of them asks me and one does
not. How do I get this response back?

Russ

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: AUTOPLAY , and hit enter.
3. Click on: "Change how your computer handles multimedia content".

Autoplay Repair Wizard

If you are talking about this message:
This disk or device contains more than one type of contend. What do you want
Windows to do?
You can right click on the cd rom and select the autoplay tab. You can then
select the radio button to "Prompt me each time to choose an action." Not
sure if you can do the same thing with USB drives and other devices.

Thanks guys.
