Value list sored in alphabetical order?

Can a value list be sorted in alphabetical order? If so, are there any
code examples of how this can be accomplished?
 
I'm with Pieter ...

If you need a list sorted some way (e.g., alphabetical), use a table to
store the values and a query to do the sorting.
