Have a copy of xppro retail.
have been using it on an older computer for app. 3yrs
When i tried using it on a new build and sometime to do a complete reinstall
have to call MS to activate
is there a way to avoid this on a clean install.
I hope this is the right newsgroup to post.

Nope. Windows Product Activation is built into the product
that is normally available to consumers. Doesn't want to
activate remotely via the Internet?

No, the OS must be activated after a fresh installation.
