I have chosen 'list' in data validation and have linked
to a range in cel dropdown.

For some reason I can't get the dropdown to work in a
particular sheet. Works fine in other sheets within the
workbook.

Any ideas please?

Tony,
What is happening with the dropdown list that you say it doesn't work?

Is the list on the same sheet as the cell with validation? If you are referencing the range directly it must be on the same sheet. You can get around this with a named range.

If this doesn't help post some more info about what is happening.

Good Luck,

Many thanks. This is totally weird. The data is in the
same sheet, just at range a1000:a1003. 3 Values to
choose Accept, decline, cancel

I have other sheets in the same workbook that work fine
with cell dropdowns. I have done all these sheets in
exactly the same way.

I know that it doesn't like it if you have a window
split, but I haven't.

It really has me foxed

If you would like to send me a copy of the workbook I would be happy to take a look at it

xl97 doesn't like it if your cell with Data|validation is above the
window|Freeze Panes line.
