Validation List

Hello,

I am having trouble locking down a validation list to the
selected list. My list references a name range, and the
box is checked for "Show error alert after invalid data is
entered." Could you help me understand why the error alert
does not show up after I type in information that is not
in the name range my list is referencing. How can I fix
this?

If there's a blank cell in the named range, data validation will allow
entries that aren't in the list.

Instead of leaving blank cells, you could use a dynamic range. There are
instructions here:
