Validating XML Using XML Schema

Hey,
I have a XML Schema, and a XML file.
How can I validate that the XML file is implements the XML Schema meaning
that it is build correctly

Second, can I make a XML Schema that one of the attributes must be a number
between a predefined range of numbers/chars?
