Yep, get a legal copy of XP.
That's not likely the problem, for I have a lap top with Windows
pre-installed and a recovery disk, and I got the message: Code not
available, the validation code could not be obtained.
So obviously the problem is on their side, not on mine.

It's not likely what problem? My response was to the OP.

You don't understand the flow of these posts from nosugarintea. He has a
pirated copy of XP, which he has already admitted to. He is having a
variety of problems as a result and has been wasting his time trying to
convince people here that it's ok for him to steal.

In any event his problem is not having a legit copy of XP.

I had one problem which was fixed in a matter of minutes by changing an
option in the tool bar. I can now update windowsXP with microsoft
udates. I was just bothered that microsoft encouraged me to install the
genuine validater and then did not allow me to restore my computer to
an earlier date. Do not waste money buying software when it is freely
available on the net. Rock is a low-iq nazis.

Actually, pirated copies of XP give a lot less problems. No activation.
No groveling to someone in India for phone activation. No WGA. Windows
Updates can be gotten from Auto Update w/o any problems. What, exactly,
do you think pirated copies of XP do that legit ones don't? This should
be good.

You forgot: "... and often no work..."

I bet you advocate cheap drugs from Canada, too.

Thats my thoughts.

If you have a high paying government job, it is easy not to worry about
wasting money on software that is free on the net to anybody who is
resourceful.

Not the ones I've seen. They all worked seamlessly. Maybe the Spanish
crackers are better than the ones in Newport Beach, California and the
other fraud centers in the USA. Course, in the USA, the pirated programs
are pirated for money whereas here it is sort of an "open community"
where people share. That said, all my machines have legit copies. I even
just bought a new copy of XP Pro from NewEgg in the USA to take
advantage of the wimpy US dollar.
I bet you advocate cheap drugs from Canada, too.

If you add the shipping, it wouldn't do me much good over here in Europe
but for retired US citizens on a limited budget, of course I do! It
would be nicer for the US citizens to be able to get cheap drugs in the
USA but I guess killing innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan is
more on the mind of Dubya than his father's generation.

Oh, and in Spain, we don't pay for drugs at all after 65.

You forgot to mention that you live in a socialist (read communist)
society. You can keep it. I don't want socialism and will fight and
kill to my last breath to keep the USA from becoming a copy of the
degenrate socialist countries in Europe. **** Spain.
