Whenever I receive a v card only certain information is visable. How do i
change the setting for this (or rather how does the sender)?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Enjoy your day!
Catherine

vCards only contain a subset of a contact's info. You can't change the
fields captured. What fields are you trying to capture in the vCard?

Hello Vince and thank you for your quick response.
The information I am looking for isn't in a certain field. It appears in the
blank area above the categories field. I tried to send you an attachment to
show you what area I am talking about but i'm not sure how to send that
through here.

There is a known bug in Outlook 2003 that prevents it from showing the notes from a vCard .vcf file. In Help | About Microsoft OUtlook, what build number do you see for Outlook?

Hello Sue,
Plenty of numbers in there...none specifically say "build Number".how many
digits should it contain? Does this look correct? 11.5608.5606 ? Thanks for
your help.
Any way around this besides cutting and pasting?

That's the build number. It indicates that you are running the original version and have never applied any service packs or security fixes. The vCard issue was fixed in a later version. You should use the Help | Microsoft Office Online command in Outlook to go to Microsoft's web site and apply the updates available. The web site will check your system and tell you want you need.

Hi Sue - I was looking for answers and came across your discussion on sending
vcards. Can you answer or direct me somewhere regarding vcards? I
discovered that when I email my vcard the activities tab is sending copies of
all my emails.

No, it's not. In fact, you can stop being paranoid about this. No one is monitoring the activities in your Outlook folders. A vCard is a text file that contains information about a contact. You can see this for yourself by opening it in Notepad. It contains no information about activities. It contains no information about activities.

The Activities page builds a list *on the fly* of items related to the current contact. It builds that list from the *current user's* Outlook folders. If someone has activities related to you, they'll see them when they open the vCard you sent, because Outlook creates one of its own contacts from the vCard. If you open that vCard yourself, Outlook creates a contact with your information on it, and that contact's Activities page will show all the activities in your folders involving you.

If you still don't believe me, save the vCard to your hard drive and open it in Notepad.
