using word to edit email message

I have two emails in a mailbox that I would like to
forward but outlook crashes if I have html compose on and
use word to edit email messages.
If I turn these options off I can forward them.
My client wants to use word as the editor.. Any one have
any thoughts as to what might be causing the crash. Is
there a patch for 2003 outlook I may have missed? The
same problem was occuring in outlook XP

Do the versions of Outlook and Word match? This is a requirement.

In Word, under the "Tools -> Options" menu, General tab, E-mail Options
button, General tab, is the "Filter HTML before sending" option enabled?
(I have OL2002 and the e-mail options may have moved in OL2003.)

Has the user tried the "Help -> Detect and Repair" menu?
