Using Word 2000 as email editor in Outlook 2002

In Outlook 2000 I was able to use Word as the email editor without problem.

Now I have Outlook 2002 the box "Use Microsoft Word to edit emails" is
turned grey and unavailable.

Is there a solution to this problem? (hopefully without having to revert
back to Outlook 2000, or upgrade to Word 2002!)

No, sorry - the versions have to match.
