Using Word 03 as editor for Outlook 03

I have selected Word 2003 as my email editor in Outlook 2003.
Both were installed at the same time and updated to SP2 at the same
time.
It has become impossible to use Word 2003 as my email editor.
Pop-up indicates that Word 03 is "either not installed or the wrong
version"; both which are incorrect statements.
Outlook 03 then defaults to it's own editor.
Everything was working fine and I've done nothing of note to create
this issue.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Happily, I just found out how to fix the problem.
It was a registry error and is fixed by START-RUN-regsvr32 ole32.dll
and all is well.
