can I set up my windows mail account to connect to the net when I'm not
home?If you can help, please show me.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I want to sell ebooks online, here is what I would like to set up, when
paypal sends me a payment received notice, i want to be able to send them the
download link 24/7. I have Verizenwireless as my ISP. I must connect each
time I want to check my mail. Is there a way I can have wm connect for me
with out manualy connecting,
I use hotmail(windowslive.com) for this.

If you want to leave your computer running and connected to the internet
with Windows Mail running in the background 24/7 and you want the same
message to be sent in reply to all incoming messages, including messages
from thieves pinging to see if anyone's home, spyware-laden messages, and
all spam messages (which will confirm your computer's existence to
spambots), yes, you can set this up.

Thanks for the advise, with that said, I plain to have a Message Rule set up
on my windows mail that will only send a message to those who buy one of my
ebooks. I don't want to leave my computer on 24/7, I want to know if I can
program wm to connect to the net say every 30 min. and check to see if I have
mail, if I do it look for those emails that meet my "Message Rule" send them
the information and,then disconnect.

Think about it: If you're not going to leave the computer running 24/7,
WinMail can't do squat...because it won't be running to receive the incoming
messages in the first place, let alone send an auto-reponse. For it to
work, all of the conditions in my first reply must be acceptable.

WinMail is a Mail Client and has no incoming/outgoing servers. Perhaps you
can set up such an auto-responder via your mail account's webmail page?

As PA Bear said, unless you leave your PC running 24/7, Windows Mail
can't do anything. Even if you leave your PC on, even the briefest power
interruption, or a Windows system event will upset the apple cart.

You could have your webmail do an autorespond, but it can't verify that
the response is going to a paid customer.

This kind of thing can't be done on the cheap. That's why domain hosting is
such a big business. Only a web server could do all the things you want.

How do you expect Windows Mail to do *anything* while the PC is off?

You might, but the PC HAS TO BE ON for this to happen.

You're looking at the wrong tools. Windows Mail isn't meant for that kind
of use, and it sounds like neither is your wireless setup.

If you're trying to set up a business, take it seriously and use the right
tools and services. Yes, you'll have to pay. Yes, you can write it all
off.

Otherwise, you will just annoy and dis-satisfy your potential (or former)
customers.
