IU want to use Windows Contacts to generate my email address, and not Windows
Mail Address Book? Is there a setting that allows this?

Windows Mail uses the Contacts folder instead of an address book.
So, unless you mean something else by "Windows Contacts", then it's the same
thing.

I have have 4 contacts folders for different email types but , all I get is a
list of contacts when I go to generate a an email, unlike Outlook which I had
an option to select a contact from a Contact sub folder but if I go to
C:\Users\Dad\Contacts\friends ( folder name) the contacts are in my users
file but not showing on my Window Mail

Is that clear as mud?

It doesn't do any good to put contacts in sub-folders, as Windows Mail won't
show them when you create a message.

The only thing WM provides, is groups... which are mail lists.

Thanks ,

I see what is happening it sucks out all contacts fromt folders and makes
one list thanks for your help.

I think this is a step bacwards that has been lost with Windows Mail. I
really liked the ability to use your contact folders in the old address book.
Hope Microsoft does something about this!!!!!

Thanks,

I used Shawns work around A workaround I did was to put the subfolders from
within the Contacts folder as separate folders within my personal username
folder like the Contact folder. Instead of clicking the TO: link click the
contact list icon, all the folders are now listed. You can double click the
appropriate folder and select the one name from that folder to add to your
e-mail.

Thanks Everyone! I missed the old program too!

To get around this is it possible to reload OE6 until a revision is made in
the Windows Mail logic?
