Using two onboard network adapters-- any advantage?

One of my computers has two onboard gigabit controllers (Asus A8n-Sli
Deluxe). Other than network bridging, is there any advantage in using both
adapters simultaneously (particularly for web surfing)? Do they share the
load, so to speak? Can one assign default behavior for each adapter (that
would serve a useful purpose)?
 
In our servers, we created NIC teaming for network fault tolerance and transmit load balance. If you want to use these features, you may create NIC Teaming. This search result may help,

Given this specific question, there is no benefit in running two network
adapters on the same computer and network segment unless you happen to have
an Internet connection that is faster than one of them. Disable one and use
the other.
