Can I view 2 different "Word" documents at the same time using Split screen?
If so how do I get the 2nd document to appear?

Open your two documents, click the "Window" menu and select "Arrange all".
The default view is one on top of another, but you can drag the bottom right
of the top document and drag it over and down, select the other document,
click the top left and drag it over and up to align them side-by-side.

What version of Word?

If you have Word 2003, you can use "Compare side by side."
