i am using ms xp home addition and was wondering if there is any way that i
can pre type text ie: email address's, passwords or other frequently used
scrips.
this would be a great help for me if i can. any ideas?
Using a single key for any automated task would not be a good idea. That would make that key almost
useless for its normal tasks. (excluding the F keys.)
There are many ways to make key combinations do task and there are already many pre-programmed for
just that purpose. Like "ctrl + A" selects all items on the open window. Now, of course you have
to find out what key combinations are pre-programs so that you don't use the same one for something
else.
Automation techniques also change depending on what program you have open. In MS Word, you can
easily write automation keys that will change VVCC into Verde Valley Computer Club when every you
type in VVCC.
You can also get programs, like Roboform,
www.roboform.com that will automatically fill in forms and
passwords as they see the need for one. Again, remember automation has it risks and drawbacks.
Now if you will give more details on just it is you want to do, someone will give you advice.
Just remember, everything I say is fully substantiated by my personal opinion.
