Using Quicktime on a PC is a Bummer for Me

I put this program on to accommodate my camera and decided to view the
National Geographic video clips.

The program performance was the slowest, most unfriendly and buggiest I can
recall since the days of the 386 PC!

Is this because the code is running on a PC? Do I have to burn sheep guts
to make it work decently?

I cannot believe the program runs this badly on Macs or they'd be out of
business.

Perhaps my 748k dsl downlink is too slow. I have tried disabling the Norton
firewall. No error messages have shown. The only program feedback is, in
essence, "windows is trying to close this page, do you want to close?"

My OS is XP Pro SP2 and the cpu is an overclocked 1.8 P4. Video card is
Radeon 9800 Pro.

But even if the connection speed is too slow, there should at least be
status indications of some kind. As it is, I have to look at the modem
lights to see if anything is going on.

Any suggestions?

JB

Hi JB:

You'll have a better chance of getting help with QuickTime in a
newsgroup that deals with QuickTime. This once is for Windows XP.
