I have been using Quicken on Windows 98 and backed up on
floppy disks. How can I transfer that data to Windows
XP. I have tried using the floppies to input to Windows
XP, but it won't work. I contacted the Dell support
person and he said I would have to get software that
would make the two compatible. What kind of software do
I need to be able to use my backed up data on Windows XP?

Hazel ... your post is a bit sketchy, such as what version of Quicken you
were using & what data files you have. You need to install the Quicken
software to be able to use the saved data. Do you still have the Quicken
program CD? If so, just install it on XP ... if not, go to your nearest
computer store and purchase a copy.
Then, copy all your saved Quicken data files to a folder in XP. Any folder
will do, but you'll probably want to make it a sub-folder of the Quicken
directory in Program Files ... just remember where you put it. Then run the
newly installed Quicken program and click on File, Open, and browse to the
..QDF file in the above folder. That should do it. Hopefully you've save
ALL the data files from the previous version.
Post back if you need more info, and with as much detail as possible.
