My operating system crashed - tried F8 options, recovery console, etc. ended
up doing a parallel install.

Back up and running! Question - what if anything can I do to repair the
previous OS? Thanks in Advance!

Mike, it depends on what problems you were having? What error messages
were you getting if any?

I was getting a quick flash of an "stop error 000000218?" message. Not sure
if that is entirely accurate, it flashes by in a fraction of a second. The
boot sequence would go something like this:

Bios would kick on and run through its process.
Sytem would kick over into the black screen telling me
due to an unexpected shut down or lose of power to choose
from the following:
safe mode
safe mode with ...
etc. etc.
last known good.

No matter what I chose it would show the XP logo and
the running green showing OS trying to load.
Kick over into a two toned blue screen which would perform
a scan disk on my D drive (partition FAT file)
Reprt no errors than quickly flash over to the blue screen
showing the stop error message.
Then shut down and restart the whole boot process!
