Using Outlook with both an Exchange Server and a POP-3 Server

I want to add my POP-e account to my outlook at the
office, where I am connected through an Exchange server.
My office environmant will allow me to get POP-3 messages,
but will not allow me to send messages through my POP-3
account.
Unfortunately, this means that Outlook consistently tries
to send messages through the POP-3 server and I keep
getting error messages.
I know to change accounts when I am sending a message on
purpose, but I don't know how to stop Outlook from trying
to send messages (maybe receipts?) via the POP-3 Account.
Can you help?
Thanks,
marc

I am using Outlook 2002,

Marc,

Since you are using Outlook 2002 you can change the Account from which the
email message is sent by clicking the "Accounts" button in the email
message. So, when the message comes in from your POP3 account and you click
Reply, click the Accounts button and select your Exchange account. This
should force the message to go out via your Exchange account.

Hope this helps.

Use Tools>Send/Receive Setiings>Define Send/Receive Groups. Edit the
"default" group, select your POP account and uncheck the "Send mail items"
(what it's called in OL2003 - it might be named a little differently in
OL2002) box.
