connection/emails etc. I want to use Outlook for my googlemail a/c on his
computer. If I set this as the default will it cause him problems for his
email? I am only a basic user so appreciate answer in simple terms please!

Are you both using the same Windows username to log into the PC? Did you
read gmail's instructions for how to configure Outlook to access the gmail
servers?

AOL does not have broadband service. Your other half probably uses an
arrangement similar to a family friend: He has Charter CHSI (cable
high-speed Internet), but uses AOL with it. Outlook *should* run alongside
of the AOL browser. The only thing is, I don't recall if the AOL browser
shows up as the default email program, or not. Shouldn't matter, though;
when you set up MS Outlook, just don't let it become the default email
handler.

Are you using Windows Vista, or Windows XP? It might be better to set up
separate user accounts for the two of you. If Windows XP, there is a utility
to set a "per user" default email handler.
