Using notes in Outlok 2003

A department in our office likes to use the notes feature
of Outlook to track info. Users with Outlook 2000 can
just drag an email to their Public Folder (which has been
set up as a note format) and everything is moved/copied
correctly - body of email becomes body of note,
date/time, etc.

I have two users with Outlook 2003, when they try this,
the note is created, but the body remains blank. It
doesn't appear to be an error - it appears to be the way
2003 works.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
BTW: pub folders homed on Exchange 5.5 for now. But I
don't think that has anything to do with it.

Did you install SP1? There is a bug in RTM where only the header info is in
the note under certain conditions but it was fixed in SP1.

Not yet for this user. But I will try it and provide
feedback.

Can you be more specific as to which conditions?

Moving items between the different formats - ANSI (old format) and Unicode
(new format). I experienced it moving items from a ANSI pst to Ex2003
public folders - but you are homed on Ex5.5 so it should all be ansi, unless
mailboxes are on Ex2000/2003.

Well, I applied SP1 for Office 2003 and the problem has
been resolved. Thank you very much Diane!

BTW: the two users that were having the problem still
had mailboxes on Ex 5.5, and we don't use pst's except
for archives. Although I am in the middle of a migration
to Ex 2003, so maybe it has something to do with the
public folders being replicated (or at least seen by the
2003 server).
