Using more usernames to access the same share

I have a question regarding a certain functionality in WindowsXP professional.

I have a Linux server with some SAMBA shares and under Linux i have no
problems in using these shares (which are called 'home') with different
usernames at the same time.

In windows when I try to do the same thing i get an error numbered 1219
stating that such action is not permitted. (I can send a screenshot)

I want to know why is that and if it will ever change in the future?

Thanx

I think you would be better asking this question in a linux/samba group.

However, start by making sure you have a samba account/password on the
linux box that matches your Windows account/password. You use 'smbpasswd'
to create samba accounts.

I would also recommend using WinSCP and SSH as a better means of sharing
files between your linux and windows machines...if file-sharing is your
primary goal.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for your reply.

Alas, that wasn't what i as interested in.
I mentioned that I use SAMBA only because im not sure if the protocols are
identical. Maybe they added some extra features to SAMBA which are not
present in the standard Windows file sharing protocol...
Anyway my question is not about SAMBA cause i know that it works (the
serverside that is) cause i tested it "natively" under linux.
My question was regarding WindowsXP. Namely Windows complains that it cannot
mount two shares with the same username twice on the same user account. I
want to know why is that and how can I change that.
I can't see this as a major design issue and looks to me as some kind of a
"hack". Any ideas?
