Using external hard drive on WIN XP and MAC

I am using viedo editing programs on both PC and MAC. I
have an external hard drive and the manufacturer
reccommends keeping the file format in FAT 32, but when I
access the drive on XP, it only allows the option of
NTFS. Help!

Format with any third party utility.
You can do a google search and find plenty.
