Can anybody please tell me how I can use colours to identify all messages
coming from a specific domain? For example, all messages coming from
@microsoft.com I want them in red. I know I can do it by individual address
but I want ALL messages coming from a particular company to display in the
same colour.

Thanks in advance, Gus

Assuming the problem is how to use just a domain - on the first tab of the
filter dialog, enter Microsoft.com in the From field.

Use rules to assign sender(s) to a category. You can add your own special
categories in the Master List or use the ones already there.
Customize the current view under automatic formatting to specify a color and
a condition (under the More Choices tab) to test the category.

No... it will work for email addresses if you enter it in the correct From
field - use the one on the Messages tab, not the Advanced tab. If you don't
include an @, it will work for all subdomains - exchange.microsoft.com as
well as microsoft.com. (Most of the time you don't really need the com
either.) It may not work with your domain on your own Exchange server
because of how Exchange does addressing and headers, but it will work fine
for internet email.

I do exactly this for several domains, including Microsoft.com. I drop
interesting posts from OE into my Exchange mailbox (open via IMAP in OE).
Messages posted using the communities interface from
@discussions.microsoft.com are highlighted by my microsoft rule in Outlook.

PS - please include the message you are replying to as to keep the threads
together for others joining the discussion.

you can apply the view that holds the rules to the other folders.
