Can someone explain to me the process of embedding a logo within or after my
email signature block?

You would need to create a small HTML file for your signature (and your
message must be formatted as an HTML message) referencing the desired
graphic logo you wish to use. The following simple file might help you
create one:

--------------------------------------------------------------
<HTML>
<BODY>
<IMG src="file://c:\myimages\myimage.jpg"> This would be the path to your
logo
</BODY>
</HTML>

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate your assistance. Unfortuately, I have no idea
what you are talking about (HTML., BODY, etc.). Forgive me for bing such a
brick, perhaps it would be helpful if you were to walk me through each step
in a different way. If on the other hand I am asking too much, I understand
and would still like to let you know that I thank you for investing in me.

Copy what Jim posted into Notepad. Edit the src in the image to reflect the
location of the image on your hard drive. Then save the file from Notepad
as an .htm file and designate that as your signature file. If you have
additional text, then you can add that as well.

Steve has already given you the answer I would have, Your logo is stored
somewhere as a image file and that's the file you need to reference in your
signature HTML file. Good luck.

Thanks Steve, I will give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks for walking me through this adventure. I will try to accomplish your
instructions tomorrow.

Before I had Windows Vista, I had an email signature which included an image.

I have tried inserting the image from file but it just appears as a box with
a red cross even if I create my message as Rich Text HTML. Have also tried
creating the signature in Dreamweaver and linking to the image that way but
the same thing happens.

Is this another of those quirky Windows Vista things? I have had problems
with receiving emails, installing Adobe CS3 and a Hewlett Packard printer,
the latter two requiring me to alter my registry.

On another website this evening, I have found people who seem to be
experiencing the same problem as me and the advice was to amend the registry.
Apparently there is a registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security. It contains
a key called "OutlookSecureTempFolder ". When that key is deleted that key,
all images are supposed to show. See
http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1353596&page=8

Can anyone offer advise on whether I should proceed with this. Changing the
registry scares me immensely.

Ideally what I would like to do once I can see my images again, is to create
a signature with my website logo that links through to my website.

Would be grateful for any advice.

Thank you

Hi
I came across this post and was wondering if you ever got it resolved as I
am trying to figure out the same thing regarding embedding my website logo as
my signature at the end of all my emails. I have Windows Vista and Windows
Mail and my server is comcast.
Also, can you share with me how to save my logo as .html?
Thanks in advance for your time,
Michelle

Windows Mail has a size limit on signature files - 4K. Not many HTML files
are that small.

OK....i've tried to do this, but have been unsucessful. I've saved my word
doc as an html. when i go to outlook, to add this link, nothing appears as
my signiture. please advise. here is what i've done. i created a signiture
in word. i saved it as an html. nothing happens.

thanks for the help

If you're doing it in Outlook, instead of Windows Mail, you may want
to ask about in a newsgroup with more Outlook experts:

microsoft.public.outlook.general

A little. In Windows Mail, your signature file must be no more than
about 4K in size, or it will not work. That's why you usually need
an indirect link to an image if you are using one, since HTML files
that contain images are usually bigger than that.

Hi all,

I have been following this discussion as i am having the same problem.

when i create a signature in html with my logo (referenced to a remote
source on my website, such as src: http://www.......) and try to use this
signature in replies to people, the image won't show (note that if i create a
blank email and then insert the signature it works fine).

Does anybody know how to resolve this problem as its driving me mad?

Many thanks for any help

Danny

Hi!

I also have problems emedding my logo as signature i windows mail...
and even if I have tried really hard to understand and try the suggestions
in here, it is ALL greak to me!! =0

PLEASE anyone - step by step - for expample:
1. copy your logo into word / exel or... and fit to size ??
2. put this or this text / codes in front or after your logo
3. then save your logo as.... in .... file....

please!?! :-)

Thanks, Rachel

None of what wnyone has said has worked now for my signature all i get is
<HTML>
<BODY>
<IMG src="file://c:\myimages\myimage.jpg"> This would be the path to your
logo
</BODY>
</HTML>
which isn't really that helpful

I have been also following this discussion and it is really frustrating to
try these things and not get the desired result. To add to the discussion, I
used Notepad to create the HTML file referencing my logo path. Then I
inserted the Notepad file that I created in Tools/options/Signatures/file
Browse sequence and Apply. Seemed to work OK but when I looked at a new
email it just created the the text of the HTML file that I had created in
Notepad. Seems I am almost there but Urgh!!!
