Hi,

Your help would be greatly appreciate to resolve the following problem: I
use Windows XP Home Edition and Office XP. There are two users on the same
PC. How can I allow both users to have access to the same Outlook data, i.e.
Inbox, Sent, Calendar, etc?

It must be something simple, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks help,
Richard

That's rather dangerous. It requires a registry hack and if using fast user
switching can screw up the outlook files in a heart beat. Are you sure you
want to take that chance?

Thanks Walter. Nope, not what I was thinking of... Is it not possible to
simply have the outlook.pst folder shared?

Richard

Yes it is possible and pretty easy. I do it with 4 home
users.
You must set your data store from OUTLOOK for each user
to the same location (like C:OUTLOOK). I believe the
settings are in the e-mail options.
You may want to search the MS knowledge base on how
exactly to do this. It is what I followed. You can also
share contacts (address book).

It's possible to configure outlook to point to a common a *.pst file. In
fact, when I'm testing OS instances, I point the different Outlook instances
in the different OS instances to the same *pst files in a common directory.
The problem is if you hot swap between users, I'm not sure what would happen
in hind sight. Although, now that I think about it if one instance of OL has
the file open other instances might not be able to open it.

Depending on what version of OL you're usning see the links that Johnny_1
posted. The last time I'd altered the location of the PST was with OL2K and
that was trickier than Outlook 2002/2003.
