I am part of a corporation and at the Corporate office we have a Windows 2000 Active Directory and also a Windows 2000 Active Directory locally. My problem is this. When I delete a users account from Active Directory on my Windows 2000 Servers it does not delete it out of the Global Catalog. I can go out to Find People in the Active Directory and they are still there!!!

I noticed this when a user that use to work here left and then came back and I tryed to create the account for them and it said that the user name was already taken in the domain. You can see the user under find people in the AD, but not under the domain user and computers. When you try to go into the account or delete the account from the Find People location you get a VB Script error.

How can I get these users completely out of my domain????

Please help!!

THanks

What You mean saying Windows 2000 AD locally - this is Your local domain
or only local DC for corporate domain ?

Chec Your replication - is i working properly - try to check it with
replmon and repladm. Check Your system and Directory services logs - are
there any entries for the errors connected with replication or Directory
itself ?

To build upon what Tomasz stated, you need to clarify what you mean by "your
Windows 2000 Active Directory" and "a Windows 2000 Active Directory
locally". Do you mean that you have multiple Sites - Headquarters and some
Branch Offices?

Take a look first at Intrasite Replication and then take a look at Intersite
Replication. Please look at the following MSKB Article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=249256

This will help you with the Intrasite Replication.

I would also suggest to you that you install the Support Tools on all of
your WIN2000 Domain Controllers. You can find the Support Tools on the
WIN2000 Server CD and/or on the WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support |
Tools folder. I would suggest the Support Tools from the Service Pack.

Run dcdiag /e /c /v and netdiag /v as well as repadmin /showreps.

Cary
