I an reinstalling XP on a friends computer and I have run into a problem. I
installed dialup Earthlink ISP ( not my choice) when I was signed on with
Administrator Privileges, When switch to a Normal user account the dial up
does not function. I have called Earthlink but they are "expericing high
call volume" and tell me to call back later.

PS Will XP be useful to a User who does not have Administrator status ? I
can not seem to get a grip on this ......

I thought you were suppose to set up one User without Admin privileges to
use for day to day things for Security reasons ???

This should help.

Why doesn't it work. All these answers may not apply to you as you haven't said anything. So far you've been told a stupid way (the correct way is Start - Connect To - <conectoid> - Remember Passwords For All Users) to fix a problem you haven't said you've got.

which allows users to logoff without dropping the line and passwords to be remembered for all users.

Thank you Bert. It seems that unless a User has Admin status they can not
setup an Earthlink dialup.
Which means that Users will "normal" status cannot go online........
I am confused. But it is working

That should not be, a limited account SHOULD be able to use it. Please
explain how it is not usable - does it not show up in the network
connections window at all, does it simply fail to login, or what?
