Hi,

I have some users that need to change the underlying text
in a report (which is a personal reference letter).

Is there any way that users could edit / customise the
text in a report with a runtime version of Access?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Best wishes

Richard

If you are printing reference letters, I would export the data to a Word
Merge format file and let your users do whatever they want with the records
in Word.

You could provide a form in which the user enters the text that changes, then let them push a button to see the report, which pulls in the text the user entered in the form

In the report, the text field that contains the changeable text should have "Can Grow" set to Yes

If it's important to save the text (which, for a reference letter, probably isn't the case), the form that gets the user to enter it could also store it in a table, so the letter could be re-created from it in the future

Hope this helps-

Jer

Thanks for your thoughts

Richard
