Users are not prompted to change password after expiration

We are using Outlook 2000 sp1 and our exchange environment is exchange 2000
what's happening is when a user launches outlook and enters there password,
if the password has expired it just locks the account and never notifies or
prompts the user to change it.

Hi - not an Outlook question. Try posting in microsoft.public.exchange.* -
perhaps exchange.clients. Also mention your client OS version.
