Everytime I send-recieve or launch Outlook 2003 the username-password box
pops up even when I put the check in the "remember password" box. On next
send-recieve the check box will be cleared, like I never checked it the last
time.
Thank you in advance.

Vince: Thanks for the pointer to the MS link. Followed the instructions to
the letter and it has had no effect. Any other ideas? This problem can be a
real time-waster!

What's the cause if this happens in an Exchange environment?

If your Windows Logon and Mailbox password do not match, or if you have
Outlook set to prompt for password.

In some cases that is not an issue, such as mine. I have my profile set up
with Exchange Service rights so that when an employee departs I can easily
log into the mailbox and administer it (set Out of Office reply, etc.). I
have never had the issue that way.
However, in my last position we had several PC's that had to log into the
network with generic profiles (and set to auto log in), but several different
mailboxes would be set up with each user individually logging in, prompted
for a profile, password, and domain. Normally works well but every so often,
the user's first attempt to log in locks the profile out. This has occurred
through various flavours of Outlook and Exchange, up to the latest. They
still have the issue, still haven't figured out why that happens.
