Hi,
Does anyone know if I can show the current user and workgroup which is
logged on a system.
I would like to show this on the desktop just as you can view the windows xp
version number or maybe as a web page.
I know you can change the my computer name to show this info but it's not
quite what I want.

Regards

John

I have seen BGInfo but I wanted to show these parameters on a
CustomBackgrounWeb Page that I could deploy across a domain
Either that or BGInfo must have changed a registry setting somewhere that
could also be deployed!

Doesn't alter the registry, but create a file named BGINFO.BMP

Yes.

Now I suppose you want to know how. ;) (sorry too much
pseudoephedrine)

You're going to love this, they are called HTA's (HTML Applications)
and they are so easy to write. (they are the Rice Crispy Squares of
the HTML world). For info only:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/hta/overview/htaoverview.asp
Just go to the TechNet Scripting Centre (GD Cdn spell checker) and
learn all about it...

Oh, you thought I was going to tell you how to do it. No methanol
with this ephedrine. But I'm telling you it's fun, and easy. It's like
s_x on a stick.
