Hi,
here is my challange:
a bunch of users having Windows NT SR4 and Office 97 are getting new
machines
that we would have to load with new install of Windows XP and Office 2003
(Power Point, Excel, and Word only). Most of the users would like their old
Windows user settings preserved and transferred to the new box
(such settings include, but are not limited to
shortcuts
toolbar settings
menu settings
Desktop settings
Folder options
Display options
I am wondering if these settings are stored somewhere in the file so that
maybe the file can be simply copied over from the user's old box to the new
box and modified if necessary- and if it is in the same file format in
Windows NT and Windows XP and is fully or partially compatible.
Also what tool can you recommend, if any, to possibly automate the transfer
of such user settings?
