User script runs twice using loopback in merge mode

I posted this last month, but I'm still trying to find a way around it....

We use the Group Policy loopback setting a lot at the Univeristy for student PCs, however it has come to light that in merge mode this is making the user logon scripts run twice. This is usually no problem but one script logs details to a database as the student logs in - it is now creating 2 records each time about 15 seconds apart. Is there any setting in the GPOs which can stop the user scripts being run twice when using loopback in merge mode??

Many Thank

Graham

It sound like the users is in the same OU structure or the GP is linked to
an OU the user is part of.

The GP with the script in is applied at the Student OU level so this affects all Students. Loopback is set on the Labs OU in merge mode, this contains only PCs. The Student user accounts are in the School OU. When a student from the Student OU logs on at a computer in the Labs OU, the script runs twice. If I take the loopback off, it runs once. I need to find a way to stop it running the script twice. The script is not applied anywhere else but at the Student OU level. Any ideas??
Thank, John.

Sorry I mixed up the school and student OUs in the description in the previous post, it should say this.....
