Hello Harry,
The Windows\Repair folder contains the registry that was backed up at the
end of GUI mode setup.
It is updated if you do a system state backup, but that is the only way
the system backs up to that folder.
however this article explains how to locate a potential copy of the
registry if system restore was running:
