Windows Mail has suddenly started asking me for a user name and password
to receive messages . It has never done this before in the
previous 1 month.

Error msg comes

Account: 'mail.mayekawa.in', Server: 'mail.mayekawa.in', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR Invalid username', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

Any Solution?

It's started asking me for a username and password each time I run it
also. Once I enter them, it will remember them for that session, but
not after I restart it.

This is often the result of running a non-compatible antivirus.
Eventually it corrupts the account information.
Which antivirus are you running?

I'm not familiar with that antivirus.

1. First try this. Delete that mail account. Restart Windows Mail, then
recreate that account. Try receiving.

2. If no improvement, uninstall your antivirus, reboot, then repeat
step 1.

3. If no improvement, download and install Windows Live Mail:
