In trying to setup a laptop to restrict use by certain user
groups, I enabled the "prevent acess to drives from My
Computer" thinking it would only block those in the USERS
group. It has also affected the Administrator. Is there an
easier way to restore the access without reinstalling
Windows 2000 Professional.

If you can reach a command prompt, run the command below:

"secedit /configure /DB secedit.sdb /CFG %systemroot%\inf\defltwk.inf /log
secedit.log /verbose"

This should reapply the default workstation security template. Please
repost and let us know how this goes.
