I've never seen this before.

- A user CCs himself on an e-mail.
- The message shows up as unread in the Inbox.
- Outlook 97 freezes for about a minute.
- When O97 unfreezes, the message has disappeared from the inbox.
It's not in Deleted Items.
The other recipents received their copy.
Message Tracking on the Exch2000 server shows it as delivered:
"SMTP Store Driver: Message Delivered Locally to Store to
user@domain"

All other e-mail (read and unread) shows up in the mailbox, and he can
send e-mail to others.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped.

Thanks,

Rob Pierce

What happens if he sends himself a message (to field)?
Note - OL97 is very old now, unsupported, and was buggy at release. If
possible upgrade people to OL2003!

Lanwench,

It happened if he were in the To:, the CC:, or the BCC: field.

He's back in the office, now, and it turns out he had a server-side
rule running. He doesn't know how that could have happened.

Is there a way to list the server-side rules running on the mail
server?

Thanks,

Rob

Not that I know of ....certainly nothing native.

I found some C code in the MS KB article 200162, and a reference to a
resource kit utility, both of which could read the rules table.

There doesn't seem to be a simple way. A menu option to "List Rules"
in the server mmc would be handy.

Thanks for your help.
