Hi Carole,
In your post you report:
"Now the welcome screen shows only one account
and no way to make necessary changes due to
no longer having an administrator account."
You suspect that this happened because someone modified the built-in
Administrator account. Does the login screen show a user other than
"Administrator"?
If so, there could be another explanation - one that would be a lot easier
to troubleshoot if true. Please review the article below and see if it
works:
281992 Original Administrator Account Does Not Appear During Friendly Logon

Of course it is possible that the built-in Administrator account could have
gotten disabled. If so this would be harder to troubleshoot. Please see
this KB article for details:

Please report your results here.

| We have a computer club with many users having little computer savy.
Inadvertantly someone has changed the installed administrator account to a
limited access one. Now the welcome screen shows only one account and no
way to make necessary changes due to no longer having an administrator
account. (ie. download critical updates on virus protection, make copy of
recovery disk, etc.) How do we fix this and is there a way to keep this
from happening again?
