XP Pro
I currently have 3 users listed. The administrator & 2 people. There is
really only 1 person that uses the computer. I am tired of having to chose
a user every time I use the computer. I want to only have 1 person listed
and never have the computer ask my to chose him, like the pre-XP days, just
log onto him automatically. I know this can be done. I think it may have
involved use of Power Toys. Can someone please tell me how to do this?

Thanks in advance... Bob

If you want to keep the other accounts but just auto logon to the one
account of choice:

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password
To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user
name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you
start your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Will this also work for the computer coming off a hibernation (maybe the
wrong word) when you touch a key to wake it up. It also does it then. Also
there is no password for the person in question. In your instructions do I
still nee the "userpasswords2"?

Thanks again... Bob

Right click a blank section of the Desktop | Properties | Screensaver.
Untic on resume, password protect. Then go to Control Panel | Power
Options | Advanced. Untic Prompt for password when computer resumes
from standby.

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to reset password using Active@ Password Changer
special tool. This is a really useful soft that worked great and never
failed. It is small yet powerful and can perform the operation really
quickly.
